Horsetail – Equisetum arvense
Horsetail is also known as the field horsetail or common horsetail. Horsetail is rich in silicon, potassium and calcium. In Japan and Korea horsetail buds are eaten in the spring. Other species of Equisetum are toxic. New Zealand has claimed horsetail as an invasive species.
Country of origin: Europe
Safety: Those with kidney disorders or thiamine deficiency should avoid horsetail.
