Mullien Leaf – Verbascum thapsus
This species of mullein leaf, known as the Great or Common Mullein, is native to Europe, northern Africa and Asia, but can also be found in North and South America and Australia. Mullein thrives in many environments, including rocky soil to forests and meadows. Mullein has been known by many names: Aaron’s Rod, Bouillon Blanc, Candleflower, Cierge Cotonneux, Clot-Bur, Clown’s Longwort, Faux Bouillon-blanc, Shepherd’s Staff, Tabac du Diable, Torch Weed, Velvet Plant and Woolly Mullein just to name a few.
