Yerba Santa Leaf
Country of origin: United States
Yerba santa is an evergreen shrub native to western North America, particularly California. Yerba santa’s comon name in Spanish is “holy weed.” Yerba santa retains water due to it’s harsh natural habitat. The leaf contains a number of flavonoids that are often used in food and pharmaceutical industries. Historically, yerba santa leaves are prepared as a tea or tonic to alleviate congestion and respiratory problems.
