Carob Roasted – Organic – Ceratonia siliqua
The carob tree is in the same family as peas and beans, but it’s most typically used as a substitute for cocoa. The pods are roasted and used in the same way you may use cocoa powder, or it can be taken as a tea extract or in a capsule. Humans have used carob pods for over 5,000 years, with the first trees being raised in Egypt and Western Asia. It is now grown in semitropical areas in the United States, Australia, Latin America and the Mediterranean.
