What is the AluBall Kava Shaker?
The AluBall is a kava-preparation shaker: a leak-proof bottle with a perforated mixing ball (the "AluBall") that prepares kava by shaking instead of the traditional kneading and straining. You add ground kava root and water, shake, and the AluBall does the work of breaking up and mixing the root.
AluBall Original vs. AluBall Pro
We carry two versions:
- AluBall Original — comes with one AluBall; works with about 10 fl oz of liquid in a bottle up to 24 fl oz.
- AluBall Pro — also includes an AluBall, with the upgraded Pro shaker bottle.
How it compares to traditional preparation
Traditional kava is prepared by kneading the ground root in water and straining out the fiber by hand. The AluBall replaces that hands-on process with a shake, which makes preparing our ground kava root powders faster and less messy.
