about this product

Chinese White Ginseng Powder (Panax ginseng)

Ground sun-dried root of Panax ginseng, Chinese White Ginseng. "White" ginseng is the form produced by simply sun-drying the harvested root (without the steaming step that produces "Red" ginseng). The two forms are the same species processed differently and have somewhat different traditional uses in TCM: White is considered gentler and slightly cooler in character; Red is more warming and tonifying.

Manchurian forests of northeast China and Korean Peninsula

White (sun-dried; gentler than Red)

White vs Red Ginseng

White Ginseng and Red Ginseng are the same species (Panax ginseng) processed differently. White is sun-dried directly - the natural color of the dried root; Red is first steamed (which deepens the color and transforms some ginsenosides) and then dried. In TCM, White is considered gentler and slightly cooler - appropriate for general daily tonic use; Red is more warming and tonifying - appropriate for fatigue, convalescence, and constitutional weakness.

How to Use Chinese White Ginseng Powder

Capsules: fill size 00 capsules; typical use is 1-2 capsules daily. Tea: simmer 1/2-1 teaspoon of powder in 8 oz water for 15-20 minutes. Smoothies: 1/2 teaspoon blended in. Traditional Chinese pattern: cyclical use rather than continuous.

Important Safety Information

Ginseng can elevate blood pressure and is generally not recommended for individuals with hypertension. Can interact with blood thinners, MAOIs, and diabetes medications. Not recommended during pregnancy. Consult a healthcare practitioner before regular use.
