Thuja Essential Oil (Cedar Leaf) is the steam-distilled essential oil of Thuja occidentalis, in the Cupressaceae family,. It is drawn from the leaves of the plant. Also called cedar leaf oil, it comes from Northern white cedar and is one of the highest-thujone oils on the market.

Thuja essential oil, also known as cedar leaf oil, is distilled from the leaves of Thuja occidentalis, Northern white cedar (also called Eastern arborvitae). It is one of the most thujone-rich essential oils, typically 50 to 70 percent thujone. The word "cedar" is used loosely across the oil trade, and it is worth knowing that thuja is not a true cedar: gentler warm "cedarwood" oils come from Cedrus and Juniperus species instead. This is a hazardous-material product.
