Satya Incense

about this product

What is Satya incense?

Satya is the Bangalore incense house behind the original Nag Champa, rolling traditional Indian masala incense since 1964. Masala incense is made the old way: a paste of resins, woods, herbs, and aromatics hand-rolled around a thin bamboo stick, producing a dense stick that burns slowly with full aromatic smoke.

The scent range

We stock eleven Satya scents: Rose, Dragon's Blood, Palo Santo, Oodh, Citronella, Copal, Golden Sunrise, Celestial Bliss, Sandalwood, Indian Rainforest, and Frankincense. The range runs from single-note classics (sandalwood, rose, frankincense) to resin-forward profiles (copal, dragon's blood) to the house's own blends (Golden Sunrise, Celestial Bliss). Every one is built on the same hand-rolled masala base that made the brand's blue-box Nag Champa a global icon.

About the maker

Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa Agarbathi Works was founded in Bangalore, India in 1964 and created the original Nag Champa. Sixty years on, the sticks are still hand-rolled in the traditional masala style, which is why a Satya stick feels denser and burns longer than oil-dipped incense.

Format & burn

Sold by the packet; a typical 15 g packet holds 10 to 15 sticks, and each stick burns for roughly 30 to 45 minutes. Burn in a ventilated room in a proper holder. We make no health or therapeutic claims.

Storage

Keep packets closed and dry, away from heat, so the masala paste holds its fragrance.

I go to the Herb Stomp locations on Belmont and Sandy. The staff there have always been knowledgeable, gracious, and welcoming. I particularly like discovering new products that I would not have ordering my purchases from an online vendor. 5/5 would go again.
